After five years as a corporate wage slave, Jiang Yuling finally managed to escape.
Just as her friends and family thought she'd find another job, she opened a shop, supposedly for fortune-telling.
Jiang Yuling protested vehemently: "Nonsense! What do you mean, fortune-telling? This is a perfectly legitimate business!"
The shop was in a remote area with few passersby, so she had no customers at all when she first opened.
But after her first "victim" came in, people started flocking to the shop like noodles multiplying in a bowl. Apparently, they were all referred by word of mouth.
"Sounds like some kind of underground trade," her friends and family remarked bluntly.
Well, Jiang Yuling thought, this line of work really isn't suitable for the public eye. It does sound a little supernatural.
But, but I'm really not a fortune-teller!
On her way to follow up with a client, Jiang Yuling happened to bring a handsome college student back to her shop.
From that day on, Jiang Yuling, who'd always been unlucky, stopped tripping over banana peels, getting sideswiped by electric scooters, and being ambushed every few days by strange rocks and monsters falling from the sky...
One day, the college student awkwardly spoke up, his handsome face serious. "Boss, I feel like I've known you for a long time. We must have been fated to meet in a past life."
Hold it right there!
Even if you're handsome and exactly my type, you can't use such an old, cheesy pickup line to hit on me!
