Monk x Snake Demon
In her first life, the little snake had only just taken human form when she was trapped in a demon-binding net. Fortunately, a monk saved her and spared her life.
The little snake fell in love at first sight, clung to him endlessly, and tempted the monk into breaking his vows.
She said, "If you won't do it, I'll find someone else."
The monk hated her bitterly and said coldly, "Next time we meet, I'll kill you."
The monk was leaving, and the little snake wanted to go with him.
But the monk only left her with one sentence: "Humans and demons walk different paths."
He turned away, and five hundred years passed.
Five hundred years later, they met again. He had been a monk for ten lifetimes, and just as he was about to attain Buddhahood in this one, he said to the Bodhisattva, "I want to return to lay life."
She had waited in vain for one lifetime and wasted nine more. If that could win them a life together, it would be worth it.
A story written to indulge my tastes. Rambling nonsense, comments welcome.
