Female detective x male forensic pathologist | Genderbender | Ensemble crime investigation
Shen Zhaowei, the twenty-nine-year-old head of a major crimes squad, is efficient on the job and doesn't like beating around the bush in matters of the heart. Gu Xingzhou, a slender and gentle twenty-seven-year-old forensic pathologist, sometimes gets cold or has low blood sugar. But when someone tries to micromanage him, he can be sharper with his words than anyone.
A woman's body found in an abandoned swimming pool becomes the first case they work on together. One case follows another, and their relationship slowly changes through each collaboration and argument.
Theme: Truth requires evidence, but also requires people to acknowledge their own prejudice, silence, and transgressions. Love begins with respecting each other's choices and being willing to share the consequences.
