The other shareholders quickly took over the Shi family company. His brother, who was rarely home, hurried back from out of town and took the young Shi Jiashu away.

His childhood was spent relying on his brother and constantly rushing from place to place. Shi Jiashu didn't know why, but he was obedient and well-behaved, doing his best not to cause his brother any trouble.

Then, when he was eleven, he and his brother temporarily moved to Hangzhou. There, he met a solitary boy named Yu Jingqiao.

Yu Jingqiao didn't seem to get along very well with his family. Shi Jiashu often heard someone on the other end of the phone yelling at him.

But Shi Jiashu wanted to get close to Yu Jingqiao. With shameless persistence, he dragged him into playing games, doing homework, and going to the bathroom together. Later, he even showed up with his pillow and demanded that the boy help him fall asleep. The boy indulged him in everything, and the two were inseparable, filling every difficult moment with each other's company.

Just when life seemed to have finally settled into a peaceful routine, one day four years later, Shi Jiashu's brother vanished without a word. He rushed into his room and found only a bank card and a note left on the dining table where they often ate together.

It seemed he'd been abandoned.

Soon after, Yu Jingqiao also disappeared without a trace.

For Yu Jingqiao, Shi Jiashu's arrival was like a beautiful dream woven into a life in which no one had ever expected anything of him.

The boy was innocent, kind, sweet, and adorable, worthy of every wonderful adjective in the world.

He was willing to stay by his side as he grew up.

Yu Jingqiao carefully disguised his personality and expressions, hiding his dark past. He showed the innocent little deer nothing but genuine kindness, gently coaxing him to sleep, feeding him, and helping him get dressed...

He used every means he could to make Shi Jiashu depend on him and stay by his side.

He became the only cure for his pain.

But he couldn't understand why, after going back to Beijing to deal with his monstrous father, he returned to Hangzhou in a hurry only to find that the boy who was always smiling had vanished into thin air.

The dream had been so beautiful that it was as if it had never existed. Shi Jiashu was like a butterfly that had briefly rested on his fingertips in that dream.

He would spend the rest of his life catching that butterfly.

[Important Reading Notes]

1. The story is told from the bottom's perspective, so the feelings you read about, especially early on, mostly reflect how the bottom sees things. It's normal to be misled by the top's attitude. The top's inner thoughts are shown less in the early chapters, so he may seem heartless at first. As the story develops, we see more of his perspective and learn why.

2. The top and bottom have very strong mutual feelings. To each other, they're the only one. There won't be any random third parties dragged in to join their play. Even before they start dating, they're both completely committed.

3. Neither the top nor the bottom is perfect. They both have flaws, but they'll grow.
