“Then don’t wait until you’ve lost her to regret it.”
The Star’s words held a pointed meaning.
“Actually,” the Sun abruptly joined in, “I don’t mind not seeing her. As long as she wants me to, I’ll wait forever.”
The Hanged Man hesitated, as if wanting to speak.
“That’s enough.”
The Fool at the head of the table tapped the edge, bringing the meeting to a close.
No one knew that Klein was already sweating buckets beneath the gray fog.
