Xu Qiao is treating a violent patient at the clinic. The situation is nearly out of control, and in a panic, she tries to run, only to be hit on the head by a heavy object. When she wakes up, she is lying in a manor where the lights never go out.
The man who saved her is called Bai Suchen. Dressed in flowing white robes, he is gentle and refined as jade. He bandages her wound and says, "This place is remote. No one will come after you again."
Only then does Xu Qiao realize she has transmigrated. But that's not so bad. The manor has beautiful scenery, plenty to eat and drink, and no night shifts. She can treat it like a long vacation.
There are two other masters of the manor. The second young master, Suseng, is cool and quiet, but teaches her exercises to cultivate her body and mind every day. The third young master, Sumou, is stylish and spirited, and takes her around to eat, drink, and have fun.
Apart from looking very much alike, all three have their own charms, and they treat Xu Qiao wonderfully. The catch is that she has to prepare medicinal tonics for them every day.
Each of them is like a fire, and sometimes they burn so hot that she can barely handle it.
Then one day, she discovers a mass of blood that flows but does not disperse inside the third young master's sleeve. At the site of the second young master's severed arm, she watches the bone grow back on its own... This is way too unscientific.
Bai Suchen embraces her from behind, his voice still gentle. "Don't be afraid. They are all me."
An ancient god shattered into three fragments of spiritual awareness: soul, bone, and blood. At first, only the soul remained, but after consuming the medicine Xu Qiao prepared, the bone and blood gradually began to revive.
"You called me back." He rests his chin on her head, his voice full of longing. "You have to bind yourself to me, or I can't keep living."
By chance, Xu Qiao discovers in a bamboo manuscript that Suseng is the bone: cold and curt, but he remembers every one of her preferences. Sumou is the blood: full of life, teasing and coaxing her. And Suchen, who keeps watch by her bed night after night and tells her, "You must never leave," is the soul.
Xu Qiao thinks Bai Suchen must have a split personality, so she starts giving him even stronger medicine.
And he is happy to take it, because only her love can make him whole.
