A Rookie on the Case [Crime Investigation]

Content warning: A little ensemble cast; plot-focused; a supporting character is a woman who transmigrates into a man's body. I'm currently trying to get the novel approved for signing, and revising the entire manuscript.

The little skit mentioned in the blurb appears later. If you're interested, please add it to your favorites~

[Welcome to Newbie Case Investigation.]

Six rookie police officers, forensic specialists, and tech support staff begin their lives as probationary officers. They not only speak for the dead and bring criminals to justice, but also spot survivors of the cases when they are caught up in the storm, standing up for the living.

As they solve one case after another, police officer Xie Xiuyang's friendship with her childhood friend, forensic specialist Zhang Wangle, gradually changes, blossoming into love. Little does she know that her childhood friend has been plotting to win her over for a long time.

Just as she begins to realize that her feelings are no longer quite friendship, she wakes to find herself locked up in an abandoned basement. Her cool and distant childhood friend gazes at her with reddened eyes, as though she were a heartless lover.

Xie Xiuyang: Who upset you? Let me go and I'll get justice for you. I'll make them make it up to you!

Zhang Wangle: How are you going to make it up to me? Why won't you be with me?

Xie Xiuyang: Me? (Loading the cow-cat meme.jpg)

Facing her childhood friend, whose eyes are red too, Xie Xiuyang goes straight in for the kiss, the kind where she uses her mouth to silence the other person's mouth.

Afterward, she smacks her lips, savoring the moment, and watches with satisfaction as her childhood friend's face turns red.

Xie Xiuyang: Is that enough to make it up to you? If not, I can do more.

Theme: Justice is never absent
