"Then never leave." She wrapped her arms around his waist and pressed close. "You're only one step away from forming your core. Once you succeed, all your illness and pain will be gone. Don't talk so bleakly."
He savored her presence, spellbound. "You said it yourself. You still have time to change your mind before the day is over."
