Ling You transmigrates into a cultivation novel. In the original story, she is not only the sect's good-for-nothing freeloader, but also a stumbling block in the romance between the hero and heroine, and ultimately dies a tragic death at the sect leader's sword.
Ling You looks at this classic setup. "Don't tell me I have to conquer the male lead? Can't we try a different trope?"
The Side Character Rescue System: "No. You need to cultivate seriously, light up the five Dao Stones of swordsmanship, alchemy, talismans, formations, and beast taming, and conquer an unknown target as well."
Ling You: "...What?"
The biggest uncertainty on this long road of cultivation and conquest is the new junior disciple who just joined the sect.
He doesn't appear in the original novel, as if he came out of nowhere. Cold-faced and cold-hearted, he makes the sword beneath her feet buzz incessantly the first time Ling You rides it, as if it can't stand her. After an accident, he even holds his sword to her throat. Ling You decides to stay away from this unpredictable mad dog.
But later, this junior brother seems to change. He helps her treat her injuries, saves her from danger, hides in her room when it thunders, and even cries in front of her...
Ling You really can't figure him out.
Then one day, her fiance, the second male lead, comes to ask for her hand in marriage.
That night, the junior brother kneels at her feet, his clothes completely changed. Dressed in red, he bares a broad expanse of snowy-white chest. His hair chains jingle softly, and a pair of fluffy ears droop down.
His tail winds around her ankle, rubbing against it and slowly climbing higher. His voice catches with tears.
"If you truly love him, I wouldn't mind being your third, either. Senior Sister, anything is fine. You can do whatever you want with me. Tie me up here with a rope if you like. I won't have a single complaint."
"Senior Sister, I only ask that you show me some affection."
1. This isn't orthodox cultivation, and there are lots of original settings.
2. The heroine doesn't like the second male lead, and grows over the course of the story. She isn't strong from the start.
3. The original hero and heroine aren't vilified, but their romance takes up very little of the story. It's almost entirely about the main couple.
4. Both are each other's first and only partners, one-on-one, happy ending. Written to indulge my tastes.
5. Updates every other day at noon.
