Kanbara Banri is a graduate student at Caltech. After a lab accident caused a time-space black hole, she was flung out of the universe and spun at high speed into another one. Once she arrived, an AI calling itself the Integrated Data Thought Entity invaded her brain and solemnly informed her that, if she didn't want to become an idiot, she would have to earn an Advanced Professional Qualification Certificate for Cosmic Villains.
As a villain with performance targets to meet, Kanbara Banri diligently racks up participation points every day in Gotham, doing her best to follow the principle of never passing up an opportunity to do evil, however small.
Every day, she helps an old lady cross the street and then sends her back, puts kittens that have jumped down from trees back up in the branches, recklessly runs red lights, and takes the trash out of the bins and puts it on the ground... She works hard to build up her own influence, raises money, and plans a major incident. When the exam results come out, she discovers in despair that her score is only a tiny fraction of the top candidate's!
Kanbara Banri trembles as she looks at the villains with their incredible records and cries out silently in her heart: Do Gotham villains really have to be this competitive?!
A short excerpt
A must-do for anyone who wants to become a Gotham villain is to oppose Batman. In the spirit of knowing your enemy and yourself so you can win every battle, Kanbara Banri draws on what she learned before she transmigrated: Batman's name is Bruce. She tries to guess his real identity...
“Batman is muscular, has expensive equipment, and is a master of martial arts. He's a muscular, rich, and exceptionally tough guy named Bruce. So the most likely candidate is... Bruce Lee!”
Reader Advisory
1. The love interest will most likely be Red Hood.
2. The author hasn't written in a long time, and the writing wasn't great to begin with. It may have gotten worse, so please don't be too harsh.
3. I only got into DC recently and haven't read many of the comics. The few I have read contradict each other's characterizations, so I've gone with my own interpretations. Please forgive any out-of-character writing.
4. The author doesn't like supervillains, so please forgive any offense.
5. The author has another demanding job, so updates may not be regular.
