In his third year after transmigrating, Yuelan used his last few Galleons to rent an abandoned farm in a remote little town. He planned to retire early, grow vegetables, raise chickens, and live a quiet life.

The farm was pretty cheap, though the landlord was a little scary.

They said he was an evil dragon who had ruled the land for a thousand years and loved nothing more than eating people.

So Yuelan diligently farmed, raised livestock, and studied the culinary arts in this other world, while also feeding a cold and ruthless evil dragon until he became a big cat who showed up at the kitchen windowsill at the same time every day, waiting for a meal.

After all, aside from those icy scales that were always coiled around Yuelan's ankles, this gentleman was very much his type.

In between tending the farm, Yuelan sometimes went to cook for the knights stationed near the village. The blond, blue-eyed bishop always warmly invited him to join the morning prayers.

Unfortunately, Yuelan always fell asleep along the way. When he woke up, his waist and legs would ache, and he would have lots of red marks on his body.

“Summer bugs are such a nuisance, aren't they, my child?” The bishop smiled reassuringly. Yuelan lowered his head, afraid to meet his eyes, and naturally failed to notice that the man had the exact same alluring scent as the evil dragon.

The dragon propped up his head, narrowed his golden slit pupils, and stared at the roast meat in Yuelan's hands, torn every day between eating the food the cook made and eating the cook himself.

The answer was: eat the food first, then eat the man.
