The Snake Immortal's Remedy

[Human x Snake]

Modern-day Yang Liuzui has been having a rough time lately, so she decides to go into the mountains to burn incense and have her fortune told.

Who would have thought she’d lose her footing and fall into a huge karst cave, where she meets a man in a blue robe dressed like someone from ancient times? He claims to be the cave’s immortal, and is courteous, proper, and graceful.

The woman and the immortal spend nine days together in the cave. Yang Liuzui happens to find her way out, only to discover more than ten Taoist temples built on the mountain.

She asks the villagers about the cave immortal legend, and is astonished to learn that the temples were all built to suppress demons. There is no immortal in the cave, only a snake demon who failed to transform into a dragon and wreaks havoc on the world.

The green snake was never a creature of the mountains. With wind and rain, it would transform into a dragon. Yang Liu dreams the Zhuangzi’s dream in the mortal world, asking not for freedom, but for fame and fortune.

A modern-day spin-off of The Legend of the White Snake.
