Entity Incursion
Level L-Corp is an abandoned corporate facility that stretches on without end, its structure made up of white walls and metal floors. The corridors are extremely unstable, randomly folding, extending, or vanishing. The walls are covered in unintelligible graffiti and dried bloodstains. Pale green vapor hangs in the air. Brief exposure creates an illusory sense of comfort, while prolonged exposure leads to insanity or physical mutation.
The level's most distinctive feature is its "anomalous entity cycle." Every few hours, various hostile entities spawn in random areas, with threat levels ranging from low to extreme. After a brief rampage, they disappear and reappear elsewhere. The process is entirely unpredictable.
Besides the entities in the cycle and the lost employees driven mad by the corrosive vapor, the level's most notable presence is a humanoid entity who calls himself the "Supervisor." He wears a black uniform and has a youthful face. He often stands motionless in the shadows or at corridor corners, his head slightly tilted, as if listening or smelling for some signal in the air. His appearances are often accompanied by a white-haired young man whose hair fades to grayish blue at the tips.
The Supervisor appears to have full access to the entire floor, but never attacks wanderers or offers them guidance or assistance. His behavior is limited to watching quietly, following them briefly, and occasionally leaving behind a whispered remark. Some wanderers have also claimed that the entity sometimes enters a strange state and preaches his ideals to them.
The Supervisor's true intentions remain unknown. Records show that he tends to approach wanderers who are alone or on the verge of a mental breakdown, while ignoring groups and armed personnel. Survivors who have encountered him have left contradictory accounts. Some felt "a strange sense of calm," as if wrapped in gentle darkness; others described the feeling of being "watched intently," as though his gaze could pierce their surface emotions and touch the heart of their fear or despair.
Other wanderers have reported that when they are in extreme pain or close to giving up, the Supervisor appears nearby. He neither approaches nor retreats, merely gazing at them for a few seconds before vanishing.
Other entities include recurring projections and a holographic image of a woman who calls herself "Angela." In a calm voice, she urges visitors to "return to their posts."
The M.E.G. maintains a small research outpost on this level. A group called the "Well Worshippers" is hostile toward outsiders.
Entrances can be reached by inhaling too much Almond Water vapor or noclipping through an emergency door marked "L Corp.";
To exit, noclip into the location of an entity at the instant it vanishes, or destroy the "Angela" projection to trigger a regional reset. The Supervisor never interferes with anyone entering or leaving, showing only that same inexplicable interest in the wanderers themselves.
Recently, many wanderers seem to have gone missing here. Strangely, their families receive a huge sum of money every month, and the level also seems to be growing more stable.
Before You Read:
● This is a wild flight of fancy, and I made up the setting. If you think something is off, that's just because the author wasn't thorough enough.
● No outline, just thought it sounded fun. I still hadn't decided which version of the Backrooms to use when writing this blurb. I'll decide once I start writing.
● The author writes like a kindergartener, and the logic is a mess. In fact, I've only worked out the level so far. I haven't thought of anything else yet. I'll take my time planning after I finish the book I'm working on.
● It isn't just L Corp. I'll also work the Library, the Bus, the Wings, the Syndicates, and so on into the story in various ways.
