Shen Yubai had always hated Xu Yan.

Xu Yan was carefree and flamboyant, gifted but unwilling to put in the work. He was always right behind Shen Yubai, coming in second, and constantly at odds with him. The whole school knew they were sworn enemies who couldn't stand each other.

Shen Yubai was coldly critical of everything Xu Yan did, certain that the two of them would spend their whole lives competing against each other.

But at some point, his gaze began to fall on Xu Yan of its own accord.

He noticed the sweat-damp hair on Xu Yan's forehead when he played basketball, cared about the light in his eyes when they argued, and instinctively caught every bit of news about him.

His hostility slowly grew and quietly changed into something else.

The rival who had once been at daggers drawn with him became a secret he kept to himself, a feeling he didn't dare confess.

Xu Yan only wanted to defeat Shen Yubai, completely unaware that his nemesis had long since fallen, alone, into a long and carefully restrained secret crush.
