A Beta police officer on the anti-drug squad volunteers for a high-risk undercover mission to take down a major drug-trafficking organization. His appearance and temperament are strikingly similar to the late first love of an Alpha drug lord. He deliberately imitates that person's habits and expressions, approaching the drug lord and winning his trust as a "replacement" while waiting for a chance to gather evidence of his crimes.
Everyone thinks the undercover officer is the one pretending to get close, exploiting the drug lord's greatest emotional weakness. But in reality, the deeply calculating drug lord saw through his undercover identity at their very first meeting and recognized his clumsy imitation. He chooses not to expose the truth, going along with the officer's act and pretending to fall for him, willingly losing himself in the false tenderness of this substitute romance.
As they spend their days and nights together, their constant tests of what is real and what is false pull them closer, and both begin to feel something genuine amid the deception. The undercover officer falls into a forbidden love, but stays clear-eyed: this relationship, born of lies and grounded in darkness, has been wrong from the start.
In the end, the final siege begins, and the conflict between good and evil leaves no room for reconciliation. They cast aside their identities and disguises, let go of all their obsessions, and amid the smoke and fire choose to face destruction together. By dying together, they put an end to this devastating love affair, born in deceit and buried in the abyss.
Theme: The false love woven in the warmth of spring cannot withstand the bitter cold of winter. Once the disguises are torn away, all the deliberately performed devotion is laid bare. Love between people on opposing sides is never destined to last.
