At Tongxi High School, there's someone like a "devil." That person is Shen Shiqiu, the school's notorious bully. He always ranks last in the entire school, setting Tongxi High's worst record. He skips class, drinks, smokes, and gets into fights. In his teachers' eyes, he's "a social degenerate," and his classmates avoid him as a "dangerous troublemaker."
Tongxi High also has someone like a god. That person is Xu Yu'an, who always ranks first in the entire school. He's the one who repeatedly takes the stage as an outstanding student representative, and the "good kid whose parents wish they had" in every family's eyes.
Shen Shiqiu thinks he'll spend the rest of his life in a downward spiral. But on the first day of his sophomore year, the gears of fate begin to turn at the school gate. The two boys, who have nothing in common and clash at every turn, finally form an unexpected connection. After that, things quickly spiral out of control:
They become desk mates on the first day of school; they clean the classroom together during a big cleanup; they share an umbrella on the way back to the dorms in the rain; they compete at basketball in PE class; and they have a thrilling time in a haunted house on a school outing. These little moments take them from strangers who can't stand each other, to close friends standing shoulder to shoulder, and then, little by little, to lovers. Finally, they walk hand in hand toward the altar...

Theme: Beneath the rebellious shell of young Shen Shiqiu are hidden wounds. Xu Yu'an uses kindness and respect to challenge the stereotypes others have about him. As desk mates, the two keep each other company, seeing and healing one another over a semester of high school. Xu Yu'an learns that blindly trying to save someone isn't the answer, while Shen Shiqiu slowly learns to rein in his temper and face his own troubles. They stay true to themselves and find precious understanding and friendship amid the bustle of campus, each slowly growing into a better version of themselves.
