The day aliens invaded, Wen Shiyu's younger brother died in a pool of blood, her older sister vanished without a trace, and she herself was dragged out the back door by her ankle. An alien woman named Luoxi rescued her and hid her beneath a crooked jujube tree beside a cottage in a tea garden. Luoxi said she was searching for someone: the person who had opened a cage a long time ago. Wen Shiyu had no idea who she meant, until she recognized the red cord in the moonlight, and recognized her own hand. They were two stars that should never have crossed paths, yet their orbits had been entwined ever since the cage in a cave when they were five.
