Should We Really Fall in Love in a Sports Anime?

A first-person, humorous story written purely for fun.

Hi, my name is Sugawara Chinatsu. There's nothing particularly special about me. I just got into my dream school, Nekoma High, and I'm planning to study hard and get into my dream university with a high deviation score.

Then a potato wizard appeared out of nowhere and declared that, for the sake of my rosy high school life, he'd bound me to a romance System and told me to go fall in love!

But there's no affection meter, no highlighted love interests, and no branching plot choices. What kind of romance System is this?! After binding itself to me, doesn't it care about hitting its KPIs at all?

I carefully investigated the friends around me. My classmates play volleyball, my friends play basketball, and even my online friends are into sports. Is this a sports anime set? If I date an athletic guy, will I rank behind volleyball, basketball, and tennis?

Then I passed by some curse spirit, supernatural ability, and yokai settings, and silently gave the sports anime setting a thumbs-up. Sports anime is great. The special effects and skills are only displayed on the court... Protecting the everyday life of an all-girls' school can't wait!

P.S.

1. A first-person slice-of-life story, mainly about volleyball and Skip and Loafer, with other sports anime such as Kuroko's Basketball and The Prince of Tennis appearing from time to time. Detective Conan and Jujutsu Kaisen are also referenced, but their main plots won't be followed.

2. One-on-one pairing in the end. The heroine won't only have one relationship, and although the male lead appears early, things will stay platonic for quite a while.

3. Diary-like writing warning! Chapter titles have little to do with the actual content.
