In Chang'an, at the height of spring, kites drift through the sky.
Yun Yanqiu climbs over a high wall in search of his kite and trespasses into a heavily guarded, secluded estate, where he first meets He Xuanyu beneath a shower of falling blossoms.
An arrow grazes his cheek, and the jade pendant he always carries is lost among the pear blossoms.
"If you want your pendant back, come spend a little time with me in the courtyard every day."
One promise binds two young boys with utterly different temperaments.
Passionate and carefree Yun Yanqiu, and aloof, taciturn He Xuanyu: from the moment they meet in the springtime pear garden, the threads of fate entwine them tightly.
The spring breeze never ceases, and the falling blossoms bloom anew. The old story of Chang'an that belongs to them slowly begins to unfold.
An OC novel I wrote for fun. I'll gradually add more about the characters later.
Theme: Two boys with utterly opposite personalities illuminate each other's lives.
Set against a springtime encounter in Chang'an, this story follows the chance meeting and mutual comfort shared by Yun Yanqiu, passionate and free-spirited, and He Xuanyu, lonely and reserved. A fervent rush meets the solitude of a secluded estate; an untamed wind meets the still waters of a cold pool. The story expresses the idea that lonely people will eventually find kindred spirits, that personalities need not match for souls to connect. Even when bound by constraints, people can find warmth through meeting, seek a kindred spirit, and witness the purity of the human heart through the friendship of youth.
