If someone had asked where your beauty lay,
where the treasure of your youth was kept,
you would have said, "In these sunken eyes of mine,"
A shameful greed, and praise that comes to nothing
P.S.:
1. This uses the setting and narrative perspective of Wuthering Heights. The main characters are original, so it's fine if you haven't read the novel.
2. I started writing this because the original author only produced one book, and I couldn't find anything else with the same flavor. So I had to write it myself. If you don't think it's good, please don't curse me out. I'm just a desperate writer making my own food.
3. No writing advice, please. I know what I want to read, and I know what I want to write.
4. I won't break up the original canon pairing. Heathcliff, Catherine, and Edgar, the three of you ghosts, just live your lives well. That's what matters most.
5. The blurb is from Shakespeare's Sonnet 14.
Theme: Lovers who miss their chance
