Ji Lingyue was dazzling and bold, always doing things that broke school rules. In everyone's eyes, she was an arrogant delinquent.

Shi Wenyan was cool and aloof, and had held the top spot in his grade for years. He was the dream boy of most of the girls.

The two were so utterly different that no one would ever have expected them to get together.

When someone happened to find out they were dating, they were shocked for less than a minute before deciding that Ji Lingyue treated romance like a game and would dump him within three months.

But a year passed, and the two were still together, proving them all wrong.

Then one day, their homeroom teacher suddenly changed the seating arrangement, and the two stopped talking. Only then did people realize they had broken up.

A few days later, after the New Year's Eve party, Ji Lingyue was in a bad mood and went to the rooftop to clear her head.

As soon as she pushed open the door, she saw a familiar figure.

It was him.

Hearing the noise, Shi Wenyan turned to look at her.

The door was already open. It would be awkward to leave now, so she steeled herself and walked in.

"What are you doing here?"

He didn't answer.

Her temper flared. She turned toward Shi Wenyan, ready to yell at him, but he suddenly bent down and pulled her into his arms.

Ji Lingyue was startled and immediately struggled. "What are you doing?!"

He asked softly in her ear,

"Ji Lingyue, are you really that cruel?"

After years apart, they met again in a hospital examination room. Ji Lingyue had sprained her ankle and hobbled inside, only to see a familiar figure from behind.

He had lost the youthful awkwardness he once had, but seemed even colder and more distant, as though he could shut out all the noise around him.

"Shi Wenyan." Ji Lingyue said his name.

He glanced at her indifferently, all business.

"Long time no see."

Once the pampered young lady realized how she felt about him, she took the initiative, declaring, "I was the one who broke up with you, so of course I'm the one who has to win you back."

Shi Wenyan calmly watched everything she did.

A few days later, the two went to an amusement park. When they entered the haunted house, timid Ji Lingyue kept hiding behind him.

Shi Wenyan said coolly, "Weren't you the one who wanted to come?"

"But I'm scared." Ji Lingyue trembled behind him.

Just then, an actor playing a monster sprang out behind her and growled.

"Ah!" She jumped into his arms.

Shi Wenyan froze. A few seconds later, he reached out and patted her back.

Ji Lingyue opened one eye.

Their faces were inches apart.

She blinked, then, as if possessed, rose onto her toes and pressed her lips to his.

The monster covered its face and left.

After letting go of him, Ji Lingyue guiltily avoided his eyes.

Shi Wenyan's hand, hanging at his side, curled into a loose fist. Then he wrapped an arm around Ji Lingyue's waist and kissed her.

"This time, you're the one who made the first move."
