The court is corrupt, repeatedly making ordinary people take the fall. Wei Xian discovers this secret at the age of ten and investigates alone until he is twenty, when he finally meets Song Qingyuan, someone who can work alongside him.
Their plan proceeds step by step. Using her disguise skills, Song Qingyuan creates a new "imperial court." The two sides face off, sparking a great war.
Framed and captured, Song Qingyuan is rescued by Wei Xian at the risk of his life. He doesn't know that he has already been treated as a disposable pawn, ready to be silenced at any moment.
The two escape death and hide from place to place as they build up their forces.
In the second great war, with victory almost within reach, the System warns that Song Qingyuan's actions have deviated from the plan, declares the mission a failure, and forcibly extracts her.
Song Qingyuan then drags the villain off a cliff with her. Their bodies are never found, and the System collapses.
The people are liberated, and their homes are rebuilt.
Wei Xian leads the people alone as they build a life in the new world. One night, Song Qingyuan's System notices this new world.
