To win a wager, Chang Yu resorted to every dirty trick in the book to rope in a disciple.
"Qian Chuanchuan. That's a great name. I like it."
After they sealed the master-disciple bond, Chang Yu happily went on her way, leaving a bewildered Qian Chuanchuan behind. By the time he realized that this master he'd gotten for free was Chang Yu, she had already vanished.
Chang Yu! That greedy, shameless, utterly infamous Chang Yu!
Could anything good come from following her?
"First get aboard the pirate ship, then take down the pirate captain!" Knowing he couldn't beat her, Qian Chuanchuan decided to swallow his pride and bide his time until he could turn the tables.
He never expected that a month after entering the mountains, Chang Yu still hadn't taught him a thing. All she had him do was plant trees.
Chang Yu smiled as she handed Qian Chuanchuan a bag of seeds.
"Plant trees. All my disciples start by planting trees."
"You'd better get something growing soon. Don't keep me waiting too long."
So from morning to night, Qian Chuanchuan did nothing but plant trees.
Qian Chuanchuan could take it no longer. He gritted his teeth and endured some more.
Luckily, before he ground his teeth to dust, he realized Chang Yu might not be quite so awful after all.
"You're starting to seem like a real master now," he murmured.
Chang Yu looked puzzled and furrowed her brow. "What are you talking about? Do you have another master?"
"N-no." Qian Chuanchuan came to his senses and lowered his head, too embarrassed to look at Chang Yu. Yet even with his head bowed, he could still picture her right in front of him.
His thoughts wandered in every direction. Then Chang Yu suddenly called to him.
"Let's go."
"Where?"
"To cultivate." Chang Yu tapped Qian Chuanchuan lightly between the brows with her knuckle. "Don't tell me you've gone stupid."
Qian Chuanchuan sprang to his feet and grabbed the hand Chang Yu had yet to pull away, his eyes shining. "Cultivate?!"
Seeing how delighted he was, Chang Yu couldn't help smiling. "That's right. Isn't that great?"
"Great! It's wonderful!"
"Then hurry up and follow me." With that, Chang Yu turned and left.
Qian Chuanchuan hurried after her, circling around her, bouncing and hopping. "Master, you're absolutely amazing!"
Chang Yu was pleased. "You finally understand how formidable I am!"
"Master is the strongest in the world!"
"Master is the best, the kindest person ever!"
"Long live Master!"
Qian Chuanchuan's praise went on cheerfully and without end. Chang Yu tried again and again to suppress her smile, and her steps grew lighter.
The everyday antics of a pair of immortal-cultivating master and disciple who keep tricking each other.
