[Campus Tragedy]
Jiang Simiao first met Chen Yubai on a rainy day, when a single umbrella brought them together.
She thought that would be the end of their connection, but fate is hard to explain.
She began paying attention to him. Gradually, she realized he wasn't as cold as he seemed. In fact, he could be rather considerate.
Could she... have fallen for him?
But she always thought Chen Yubai felt nothing but distance, even dislike, toward her. What she didn't know was that, in all the places she couldn't see, the boy's gaze had lingered on her countless times.
But later, Jiang Simiao woke from her dream, and Chen Yubai never came back. Everything that happened that summer seemed to have been forgotten by everyone. She alone was left behind, swept up in the tide of those memories.
But time will eventually give us an answer. The pain and obsessions that cut so deep will slowly fade amid the morning breezes and evening glow, day after day.
She stopped asking whether that summer had been real and stopped clinging to the search for the boy's shadow. One morning, she woke up and realized she could no longer remember Chen Yubai's face. She didn't cry; she simply accepted it calmly.
The ice will melt in time, and the swallows will fly south.
