Atmospheric blurb:
The gentle breeze at twenty degrees was pleasant and soft, stirring the boy's hair.
Shi Jian narrowed his eyes. He couldn't see past the hair in the way, but kept watching the swaying black ends.
Suddenly, a slender hand caught the ends and gave them a gentle tug.
The girl in front whipped around, annoyed. “What are you doing?”
He pointed at the test paper on the desk, though his eyes stayed on her. “I don't know how to do this problem.”
“Let me see.” Xu Qingyou temporarily forgot their hair-pulling grudge, turned around, and leaned over the desk behind her to look at the question.
Her fingertips brushed the paper. Just as she was about to explain the problem to Shi Jian, he used his body to block the view and covered her hand with his.
Xu Qingyou looked up at him, then lowered her eyes and pretended nothing had happened.
After she finished explaining the problem, they each sat back in their own seats. But their clasped hands still carried the other's warmth.
The boys' feelings drifted on the wind. Even when the wind stopped, the feelings remained.
The gentle breeze at twenty degrees was lovely. So was youth.
Another version:
As the new term began at Xinzhang Middle School, the homeroom teacher rearranged the seats, and Xu Qingyou found herself with an unexpected new classmate behind her: Shi Jian.
Xu Qingyou's impression of him was that he was tall and kind of handsome, but might not be easy to approach.
Shi Jian's impression of Xu Qingyou was that she was a good student with excellent grades, especially in Chinese.
At first, the two of them kept the proper distance, like ordinary classmates. But after the girl accidentally fell into his arms, Shi Jian realized that everything had changed.
Note:
1. This is very slice-of-life, very slice-of-life, very slice-of-life. It's the ordinary school life of high school students, with lots of little details. If it's not your thing, please stop reading in time.
2. My writing is amateurish. This is a practice piece. If you don't like it, please don't be mean.
3. The novel includes artistic embellishments, so please distinguish it from reality. If anything gives a bad impression, it's all the clumsy author's fault, orz.
Theme: May youth never fade.
