His smile was clever and lively, and then he had dismantled the Federation's terms piece by piece at the negotiating table. He was nothing like the wretched man now, subjected to every kind of humiliation.

2. After they end up in bed time and again, Colonel Lu bitterly regrets his weak self-control and repeatedly warns Lin Ye to stop using his spirit form to seduce him.

"I'm a lone wolf and you're a fox. We were born to tear into each other."

"Your spirit form says it all, and you still insist we're enemies?"

Lu Lin grits his back teeth before managing to spit out, "What else am I supposed to do? Keep being your dog?"

3. While under house arrest by the Alliance, the red fox is always biting the silver wolf's ears.

Lin Ye whistles, and the silver fox's ears immediately perk up. Colonel Lu, busy handling paperwork, frowns. "Can you control your fox?"

The silver wolf flicks its ears and obediently lies down by the young man's feet, sticking out its tongue like a puppy. Lin Ye whistles several more times. "Can you control your ears?"

4. After the Alliance's investigation ends and Lin Ye is cleared of all charges, he puts his uniform back on and strolls with Lu Lin along a garden path.

"General Lu, how does it feel to get promoted?"

"Deputy Director Lin should know better than I do."

"Hmm, you've looked at me so many times today. How about we try it in uniform? It's been a while since we did it outdoors..."

"Lin Ye, that's enough."
