BLEACH: Crossing the Offside Line [Reiji Hikifune X Ichigo Kurosaki]

"Kurosaki Ichigo, now that you've met me, no one but me has the right to decide whether you live or die."

Yobune Meiji, younger brother of Yobune Kirio, who was promoted to the Zero Division 151 years ago.

He defected from Soul Society 150 years ago, and his whereabouts have been unknown ever since.

150 years later, Kurosaki Ichigo is in his third year of high school, doing his best to prepare for college entrance exams and everything else.

It is now one year and five months since Kurosaki Ichigo lost his Soul Reaper powers.

After the Xcution organization finds Kurosaki Ichigo and helps him partially regain his powers, a series of unexpected events follows.

At this point, Yobune Meiji suddenly appears at Kurosaki Ichigo's side and helps him out of immediate danger.

When Yobune forcibly takes him away from home, Ichigo can barely even fight back.

Forced to follow Yobune across a vast desert, he nearly gets himself killed.

But as they spend time together, Ichigo gradually realizes that Yobune isn't trying to kill him.

Soul Society and Urahara's side seem particularly fixated on the two of them.

There's a secret sealed away for a thousand years, and it's not a pleasant one.

The Soul King, that thing that holds Soul Society together like a wedge.

So what gives the Soul King such immense power?

Why does Kurosaki Ichigo exist at all?

And why has Yobune Meiji come to be at his side?

Was Yobune Kirio's promotion a reward, or a conspiracy?

Well, I guess this pairing is pretty obscure?
