Synopsis
At the wrap party for his debut film, Li Mingxi grabs a chair and smashes it into the director's head when he tries to molest him.
A video of the incident shoots to the top of the trending charts, forcing the film to be pulled from release. The stock price and reputation of the investor, the Xie Group, plummet, and hundreds of millions go down the drain.
Word has it that the film's producer, the Xie Group's heir, a man usually so refined, distant, and expressionless, flew into a rare fit of rage.
In the entertainment industry, everyone depends on the powers that be. And those powers happen to be surnamed Xie.
Li Mingxi's company gags him, ties him up, stuffs him into a wooden crate, and sends him to the tea room in the heir Xie Yun's hillside villa to apologize.
Having caused such a huge mess, he assumes he will quietly disappear into the sea.
But Xie Yun personally unties him, pours him a cup of tea, and asks in an even tone if he would be willing to date him. He promises to cherish him as the most precious thing in his life.
Xie Yun keeps his promise.
For seven years, Li Mingxi is held in the palm of Xie Yun's hand and treated with endless tenderness and love. If he wants the stars, Xie Yun picks the moon for him too.
From a bit-part actor who can barely speak standard Mandarin to a dazzling superstar, Li Mingxi owes his beauty to Xie Yun, who sends him to school and hires famous teachers to teach him acting.
Li Mingxi collects awards until he can hardly hold them, and his career goes astonishingly smoothly.
With a young, handsome lover in a position of power who dotes on him, devotes every resource to his success, and gives him everything, what could there be to complain about?
That's what everyone says.
Xie Yun spoils Li Mingxi until he develops a temper and makes enemies all over the industry.
His agent says, “The day you leave Mr. Xie, you won't even know what killed you.”
Li Mingxi doesn't take it seriously.
In the seventh year of their relationship, Li Mingxi cheats.
The media catches him behaving intimately with someone else. The video floods the trending charts, then is quickly taken down.
He makes sure everyone knows he has given the heir a spectacular pair of horns.
At the time, he has just become the youngest Best Actor in film history. Perhaps success has gone to his head, and he mistakenly thinks he can do just fine without Xie Yun.
Xie Yun asks him if the other person is just a fling or if he means it.
His tone is furious, but if Li Mingxi says it was just a fling, he might still forgive him.
Instead, Li Mingxi shows Xie Yun photos of himself in bed with the other person. He taunts him mercilessly, saying that every day he has spent with Xie Yun over the last seven years has disgusted him.
Xie Yun gives a cold laugh and says, “Fine.”
Li Mingxi's fortunes take a nosedive.
Xie Yun lets him go, but countless people rush to defend Xie Yun in his place.
The people he once offended kick him while he's down. He can't make a living in the industry or land any roles, and he nearly becomes an ordinary nobody.
Some time later, he hears that the Xie heir is getting engaged.
A while after that, rumors spread that Li Mingxi has gotten involved with the second young master of the Yin family.
The second young master Yin tricks Li Mingxi into attending a party under the pretense of an audition. A group of rich playboys surround him. After humiliating him, one kicks the back of his knee, then reaches for his clothes.
Li Mingxi's legs give out, and he falls to his knees. He scrambles forward in panic, grabs the ankle of the person in front of him, and raises his bruised face to beg for help
The man glances down at him indifferently.
It's Xie Yun.
Cheers erupt outside as a jubilant parade passes by, singing and scattering confetti in its wake. That morning, the government passed the same-sex marriage bill.
“You look pretty pathetic.” A faintly mocking smile touches Xie Yun's face as he says calmly, “Get up and get dressed.”
He says, “I want to marry you.”
In a daze, Li Mingxi thinks his hell is about to begin.
In the seventh year of being with Xie Yun, Li Mingxi, spoiled to the point of almost taking his lover's indulgence for granted, suddenly realizes something.
Xie Yun doesn't love him.
He has only just realized it himself.
Xie Yun x Li Mingxi
Unconventional top x stubborn bottom
When neither of them is being ridiculous, they're a gentle top x loyal puppy-like bottom
One-on-one, both pure
The blurb cuts out and blurs some details. At its heart, this is a romance between two people who don't know how to speak their feelings. They actually love each other so much.
Theme: A lover's devotion is greater than fate
