Long Aoyu became the world's richest man at twenty-nine. His career was a success, and his love life was perfect. Then, on the day his proposal was accepted, a line of crimson text suddenly appeared in the sky:
[30 days until the server shuts down]
Only then did he learn that he wasn't real. He was a game character created nineteen years earlier by a programmer named Zhang Wei. The fiancee he loved was also just a program Zhang Wei had written based on his first love.
Determined to find a way to stay alive, Long Aoyu sought out his "creator," an ordinary programmer who lived in a rented apartment and ate instant noodles every day. An accident caused them to switch bodies, and lives.
For the first time, Zhang Wei stood at the top of the world, with wealth, fame, and a life everyone envied. Long Aoyu, meanwhile, experienced the life of an ordinary person for the first time, and began to wonder: If I'm only a piece of code, does my life have any meaning?
As the server shutdown draws closer, they must make their final choice. One wants to save the world he created; the other wants to prove he's more than a string of code.
Theme: The meaning of life has never depended on how we came into being, but on whether we have truly loved, made choices, and lived.
It's pretty, but there's no one around
