"Strong intent detected. You are hereby invited to enter the world of A Sword to Win Your Heart as the 'Plot Correction System.' Bound character: Yan Zijing. Mission: help him change the tragic ending in the book. Whether the mission succeeds or fails, you will not be affected in any way."
"Do you accept?"
The college student leaps to his feet. "I accept! This ridiculous plot has to change!"
And so, he becomes the System in Yan Zijing's mind.
The young master he's bound to lives in luxury, with proud, striking features. After hearing the forecast of his own "cannon-fodder fate," he simply beams at his reflection in the mirror.
"Do you think... I look like cannon fodder to you?"
The System: "..." (A bad feeling washes over it.)
Sure enough, at the centennial ceremony, Yan Zijing stands atop a rainbow bridge and locks eyes from afar with Xie Chenyin, the future power fantasy hero who will cleave the heavens with a single sword and perfect the Heartless Dao. He falls in love at first sight.
The System panics and tries to stop him. "He cultivates the Heartless Dao. He's cold and heartless. He has no heart!"
Yan Zijing seems not to hear. Suddenly, he leaps into the air and plunges straight off the high bridge.
The System's vision goes black. It's over! The mission is going to fall apart from the start!
But the catastrophe it expected never comes.
Xie Chenyin raises a hand and catches him securely. The black-robed youth furrows his brow. His voice is cool and clear. "What happened? Why would you do something so foolish?"
The System has barely let out half a sigh of relief when Yan Zijing gives it a soft laugh in his mind. "See? He's not that cold..."
Before he can finish, Xie Chenyin sets him down and turns to leave, his robes fluttering as he walks away without hesitation.
The System perks right back up. "I told you! He's cold, heartless, and doesn't care about you! Host, you need to wake up, "
Before it can finish, Yan Zijing's languid voice cuts in:
"Oh? Then tell me..."
"Why were the tips of his ears so red when he held me just now? They were practically dripping blood."
The System: "...Huh?"
Wait, did this plot go off the rails from the start???
After that, the System watches its Host steer the plot into an indescribable abyss every day, while also making the future Sword Venerable lose his cool and crack his cold expression. It falls into deep contemplation:
Which one of them is actually correcting the plot?!
