A clash between big-head and little-head impulses, written purely for my personal tastes.
Includes wallflowering. A refined scoundrel of a Nazi officer * an ill-fated German-Polish mixed-race girl with every possible debuff * a melancholy Junker aristocrat and Wehrmacht officer. The sandwich has two sides, and each side has its own flavor (?). There may be all kinds of details that fit the historical and social setting, as well as irreverent World War II gallows humor. This is a full-on indulgence in my personal tastes... I've always been interested in World War II.
"The Poles are like a drunk in a tavern. Just after they've been helped into a chair, before they can even sit down, two big fellows come along and kick them to the ground."
For the twenty-two years of her life, Germans and Russians had chewed over this gallows joke again and again. Then, in September 1939, it became reality.
"Choose, Hilde." He forced her to look into his eyes. There was no lush green there, only a dead forest wreathed in ominous gray smoke. "You can do so much for the Reich... the Lebensborn program, a field hospital beneath the trenches on the Eastern Front, or... become the wife of a loyal SS officer and bear him four or five beautiful blond children."
"The code of honor revered by the Junker military aristocracy was forged in an era when On War was written and being a soldier was a lifelong profession. But the world has changed." He gently rested his head on her hand. Shells and gunfire echoed without end in the distance, and dirt kept falling over them from the explosions. His wound was still bleeding, and morphine had left his mind hazy. Tired but forceful, he clasped her hand, playing up his pitifulness and humbly trying to win a little sympathy. "Civilians shouldn't be dragged into war... I should push you away and send you to the rear, and wish you a husband who is respected, not despised. But I'm selfish. Sometimes I have the cruel thought that even if you'll become a war widow, you should still bear my name and be buried with me, or with my empty uniform."
Theme: The light of humanity cannot be extinguished.
People's hearts are complicated. In fact, the first reaction can better reflect the heart. When Hilde heard that she was getting married, her first reaction was: no proposal.
No one has good works!! So well written!!
But the foreign heroines feel more about the pain and powerlessness of that era. If the heroine is Chinese, she will be more like a bystander (I don't mean this to be bad! I love all types of heroines!)
Indeed, Hilde cannot go back. They will also be liquidated when they return to Poland.
I'm here, I'm here, my wife's writing is delicious
Like! A very cinematic historical and political war theme! A particularly delicious twisted character relationship 🤩 Hilde's situation (social, political, psychological state) feels like sitting in the middle of a scale. If you move a little to one side, you will lose your balance completely. It is very dangerous and exciting... My wife is really good at writing this type of thing! Love to watch 🤩
Although I can understand their anger, I still feel a little uncomfortable because the heroine just took the risk to help them🤷
The teacher writes that taking by force is delicious🤩🤩😳😳
Why do I think of a video? Stop, don't fight anymore
The teacher's writing style is great, and it is well combined with historical materials [continue][continue]
