Song Ji wakes up in the void with no memories. Before him stand the towering Mirror of Punishment and two chattering divine beasts, who explain the “surprise” package he has received:
“You broke the laws of Heaven. You must complete missions in three thousand small worlds to atone for your sins!”
Mission: Make each world's central character fall in love with you, then either you die or they die.
Rules: You are born into each world with no memories. You can only “wake up” and remember your mission when you are in unbearable pain.

And so he is forced into a cycle of “wake up in pain, put on a show, then go die.”
Every “awakening” comes with despair and humiliation:
World One: He “wakes up” when the unwanted mute boy is cast aside like trash on the eve of his “older brother's” wedding.
World Two: He “wakes up” on an interstellar trash planet as the “recycling organization” takes him away. (School setting / forum posts appear.)
World Three: He is the emperor's most beloved prince, but “wakes up” while enduring endless humiliation at the hands of vengeful remnants of a rebel faction.
World Four: Exams are his only hope of escaping that land, but he gets into a car accident on the way to the exam and wakes up. (Remote mountain village / school / family / showbiz / forum posts appear.)
World Five: He is a body coveted by all in the martial world...
World Six: He is an orphan performing on the streets in a chaotic age...
World Seven: He is the “perfect vase” carefully cultivated by a fallen family... (Aristocratic academy setting / forum posts appear.)
World Eight: He is a “superpowered person” branded the source of infection after saving people in a post-apocalyptic wasteland...
World Nine: ...
As Song Ji completes more and more worlds, his mind wears down amid endless “performances” and “deaths.”
After nine lives full of hardships, just as he thinks his punishment is over, he is told that the central characters of all the small worlds are fragments of the same divine official's soul!
