It all started with an invitation to stay at a hotel.
After waking up, Lu Nanqiu receives a silent phone call. Then a red invitation is thrown through the window.
[Dear Guest, welcome to our No. 404 Hotel. Please be sure to follow the rules below strictly:]
[1. The hotel will check in new guests between six and seven in the evening. On the day you receive your invitation, you must arrive at the hotel on time and check in.]
[2. Please bring your personal belongings and keep your invitation safe. If it is lost or damaged, you will lose the opportunity to stay at the hotel.]

Every guest who breaks the rules dies in an accident. To stay alive, Lu Nanqiu has no choice but to take the invitation to No. 404, Jinxun Street.
On the first day of his stay, two guests die at the dinner table.
Brain matter mixed with blood nearly coats half the tabletop. A cross, a symbol of holiness, plunges straight into the spine of the person beside it.
Lu Nanqiu covers his mouth and backs away, only to suddenly bump into a warm chest.
A strange fragrance rises from the man behind him. He raises a hand, and the next moment, Lu Nanqiu's eyes are gently covered.
Then the man says:
"Don't look. If you're scared, stay close to me."
