[Iron-willed, career-minded agent x top-tier star with an incurable case of wife-brain]
One day, gold-medal agent Xu Jinzhao transmigrates back to a rooftop in 1998.
The good news: The entertainment industry is still in its wild early days, and opportunities are everywhere.
The bad news: Her new identity is the owner of an entertainment company on the verge of bankruptcy, buried in debt and utterly broke.
Worse still, the debt collectors have already reached the building!
She has just climbed down from the rooftop when someone else pushes open the door.
The newcomer is devastatingly handsome, his expression numb.
Xu Jinzhao is shocked to realize that he is Wenren Jiu, the singer she had a crush on as a teenager.
According to his biography, Wenren Jiu was framed, disgraced, and fired. His parents even announced in the newspapers that they were cutting ties with him. In the end, he leaped from a rooftop, his life ending at the age when he should have been at his brightest.
To save him, and to secure the asset that could turn her fortunes around,
Xu Jinzhao makes her offer without hesitation: "I can clear your name and make you a superstar. Wenren Jiu, if you aren't afraid of dying, are you afraid to bet on me?"
For reasons he can't explain, Wenren Jiu agrees to this deal that sounds too good to be true.
With their partnership in place, Xu Jinzhao takes Wenren Jiu back into the entertainment industry.
Everyone is amazed to discover that Xu Jinzhao is an unstoppable force.
Under her guidance, Wenren Jiu, once infamous and left with nowhere to turn, not only clears his name but rises to become the first Chinese global superstar. His albums top the charts by a huge margin.
A film queen, deceived and abandoned by a scumbag, can only find bit parts after her comeback. In Xu Jinzhao's hands, she easily returns to fame, taking the Chinese-speaking world by storm and making her scumbag ex-husband and his family eat their words.
A movie script nobody believed in becomes a dark horse under Xu Jinzhao's careful management, shattering box-office records and raking in money, leaving a crowd of investors kicking themselves.
Even the small company that was once on the brink of bankruptcy transforms into the undisputed industry leader.
In her hands, a terrible hand becomes a royal flush, and an unknown talent can be transformed into a superstar.
The name Xu Jinzhao becomes the most valuable brand in China's entertainment industry.
Xu Jinzhao has always thought of Wenren Jiu as the perfect partner in her career.
He is not only talented, but also calm and reliable on the inside and decisive and ruthless on the outside.
Until one time, when she is traveling abroad on business, a tornado cuts her off from everyone back home.
At dusk a few days later, someone shoves open the door to the shelter. Before Xu Jinzhao can react, they pull her into a tight embrace.
Wenren Jiu's exhausted, frantic tears fall into the hollow of her neck, burning hotter than magma.
Xu Jinzhao has never been quick to notice matters of the heart, but in his tears, she suddenly recognizes the love he has kept hidden for so long.
Theme: When one path ends, another appears. Hope will always come.
