Marrying the Treacherous Minister

Lou Shiqie was forced to marry her childhood sweetheart, who was still in a neighboring kingdom.

Furious, she banged her head against a pillar right then and there. By the time her bridal sedan arrived at Lu Wu's manor, her head was still wrapped in bandages.

But she swore she would make that treacherous minister pay with his life.

She was watched everywhere and couldn't get her hands on a knife, but surely she could at least ruin his reputation, right?

So on the first day of their marriage, Lou Shiqie loudly spread the word that Lu Wu was impotent, hoping to destroy his good name. But Lu Wu had spent his time in the pleasure quarters, and the two ran into each other in a brothel. He put an arm around her waist and whispered, "How would you know if I can't perform when you've never tried, Madam?"

He was even more shameless than she was, so she ran away.

Then she'd go seduce the regent, who was always sending her flirtatious glances.

He was Lu Wu's sworn enemy. If she could steal any evidence of Lu Wu's crimes, she could make sure he lost his head.

But as Lou Shiqie stood beneath the moon among the flowers, she saw that shameless man stroll over with a smile, holding the love letter she'd written.

"Still waiting for the regent, Madam? He doesn't like married women, but I do."

Lou Shiqie slapped him, then went home and brought him pastries full of poison, pretending she had come to apologize.

Lu Wu munched away with relish. As Lou Shiqie wondered why he was still alive, she saw his neck turn red.

Who the hell switched the poison for an aphrodisiac?
