After his death, Xiao Jue was bound by the System and ordered to win the heroine's affection to a level of at least eighty. Otherwise, he would never be revived. Thinking of the company he'd only just started building in the modern world, Xiao Jue agreed.
At first, Xiao Jue thought, "All I have to do is win the heroine over? I only need eighty affection points. I can do that."
Later, Xiao Jue thought, "The male lead keeps getting in the way of my plans to win the heroine over. Has he already fallen for her? Can I still complete my mission?"
In the end, Xiao Jue rubbed his aching waist and said, "Thanks for asking. My heart is dead. Winning the heroine over is an impossible mission."
Warning: mild coercion.
There is a female-female side couple, but they have very little page time, perhaps just a passing mention. Feel free to skip those parts if they're not your thing. The author will give this side couple their own story in a future book.
The author is a beginner at political intrigue, so don't overanalyze it.
Theme: Keep your heart turned toward the light.
