Zhu Qiyue believed it when people said Ogiwara was one of the best hockey players in the country.
She believed it when people said Ogiwara was a handsome genius standing 187 centimeters tall.
She even believed it when people said Ogiwara was the most commercially valuable young athlete around.
But when people said Ogiwara was a god, and that wishes posted on his wish thread would come true, Zhu Qiyue didn't believe them at first.
And yet, somehow, it really was that uncanny.
Zhu Qiyue secretly tried posting a wish on Ogiwara's wish thread: "I hope this meeting ends right away and I can get off work."
Right after that, a senior leader got an urgent call and announced that the meeting was over.
Zhu Qiyue posted another wish: "I hope my boss stops making me travel sixty or seventy kilometers to deliver documents."
The next second, she got a call from her boss. "Never mind, don't bring them. I have a backup here."
Zhu Qiyue continued: "I hope my boss goes on a business trip and never comes back."
Not long afterward, a colleague called her, overjoyed with the gossip: "That senior leader was forced to resign!"
Zhu Qiyue was too astonished to speak.
How could he be so effective? He really was a god!
Zhu Qiyue began to think that this god, Ogiwara, really could protect an ordinary mortal like her.
When her department head urged her to go on her twenty-seventh blind date, Zhu Qiyue posted a wish on Ogiwara's wish thread: "I hope this is my last blind date."
As she looked up, the faint scent of basil drifted toward her. Zhu Qiyue narrowed her eyes slightly and saw the person who had just sat down across from her.
Ogiwara.
Zhu Qiyue froze, her mind going blank.
A mortal and a god meeting face-to-face for the first time, and it was on a blind date.
Ogiwara had seen Zhu Qiyue before.
The first time was when the team returned to the hotel. The second was at a practice match in late spring. The third was on a high-speed train during a personal trip. The fourth was at an outdoor shoot for a brand endorsement. The fifth was at the Sakahan Hockey Arena. The sixth, if receiving a photo of a blind date counted as seeing her.
So today's blind date was the seventh time he'd seen her.
He remembered every one of them.
