The Wicked Seed's Husband's Rise to Fortune

A refined young nobleman x a worldly, penny-pinching country lad

First meeting

Li Jingheng: Hunted by treacherous ministers and on the brink of death, he sees an immortal maiden gliding toward him through the snowstorm. Dressed in white with dark hair, she is noble and dignified yet kind and approachable, and saves him from danger.

Jiang Youhua: His impossible great-grandmother has just died. Wearing mourning clothes, he rescues someone in the snow. What a great deed! But the man won't even give him ten taels of silver. Sure enough, the richer they are, the stingier they get.

Second meeting

Li Jingheng: With treacherous ministers in power, the upright young nobleman leaves office to travel. His money is stolen along the way, and he ends up destitute. He runs into that greedy young country lad again and faints on the spot, both angry and hungry.

Jiang Youhua: He was so rich but wouldn't even give his lifesaving benefactor ten taels. Was it really so wrong to give him a thorough scolding? Did he have to get so mad he dropped dead right in front of me? The village gossips insist I've gotten mixed up in a murder case and demand that I take him home. What a nuisance.

Later

The worldly, penny-pinching country lad learns how to put on airs. His silver tongue spins a dazzling tale, and his hands gather up all the wealth in the land. This power-couple of ministers schemes together, and will ruin you without a second thought.

The refined young nobleman becomes worldly too. His sharp tongue enrages treacherous ministers, and his loyalty turns into rebellion. The power couple of the Great Yong dynasty does every manner of wicked deed, yet earns the people's gratitude.
