Top's perspective

To my husband:

I am grateful that you rescued me from captivity and allowed me to keep living in this world, always by your side. I am fortunate beyond words to have met you in this life and the lives before it.

But I fell victim to a scheme by a renowned physician, and was poisoned with an incurable toxin. I haven't much time left.

Alas! I regret that I cannot stay by your side forever. I only hope you will remain safe and not worry about me.

Fate has decreed it. What can be done? [Note 1]

I must go!

You look it over again and again, then leave a small line at the end... Getting more and more caught up in it, you pick up your pen and add another line: Just you wait! I won't let you get away with this!

"Fate has decreed it. What can be done?" is from the Book of Songs.

Content warnings:

Attractive top and handsome bottom, but there doesn't seem to be any description of their looks.

Second-person narration, monogamous pairing, both virgins, no switching and no fantasies.

No arguing over the actors' characters.
