This melodramatic story has more dogs than bloodshed
Shen Nianhua is forced to step in and help the arts department when they’re short-staffed. During auditions, she meets Sun Jinse, whose nerves make her hands shake and cause her to hit the wrong notes.
After the audition, Shen Nianhua and Sun Jinse become connected through Shen Nianhua’s childhood friend, Lu Xingyan.
As the two spend time together, they fall for each other, but neither says it out loud, as if by unspoken agreement.
Just when everyone thinks they’re about to get their happy ending, fate sends Shen Nianhua an unexpected disaster.
In her final days, she watches Sun Jinse slowly leave her. The following spring, Shen Nianhua appears before Sun Jinse, holding a bouquet of sunflowers.
The plot is a slow burn, with an unhurried pace.
