Also known as Both Sides Can't Let Go
The world has no shortage of cold-hearted nurses, yet people still get fired over things like this.
How boring.
Lin Wenyu is twenty-eight, a cynic who doesn't understand why people live.
When she was fired, she said nothing. She didn't ask for a cause or a reason.
For two years after that, she kept getting rejected no matter how many jobs she applied for.
The next morning, while she was out running, a young man caught up to her. He said she had been his nurse two years ago, introduced himself as Shang Songyan, and asked to talk.
She remembered nothing about him. He wanted to work with her.
She asked just one question: "How much can you pay me?"
Only later did she learn that the man lacked nothing: not money, resources, or people. He sought her out not for her abilities, but simply because she was the only person in the world who expected absolutely nothing from him.
With time, the desire that had disappeared seemed to flicker back to life.
Note: Lin Wenyu is very cold and sharp-tongued at first. Shang Songyan is world-weary at first, but still knows how to talk smoothly and is quite glib, at least in Lin Wenyu's opinion.
Theme: Someone who may not understand what love looks like can still be held fast by it. They are drawn to each other.
