Dragon Ball: Trunks Fan Fiction: The Future Is Gone

Twenty years ago, she fell in love with him, a man from the future. From then on, she willingly endured twenty years of life in darkness, all so that he, already battered and broken in the future, could smile brightly once more. But when he finally saw the sunlight again, she had already slipped away. Because in that future world, she had never existed. The future was gone, leaving behind only the few memories they had... "Dad, why did you give me such an ugly name?" she asked, pouting. "..." Goku smiled. "Because all the good names were already taken by me and your two older brothers." "Gohan, let's trade names." "Have a heart, would you? I got this name from my dad's grandpa." "Goten, let's trade names." "If we trade names, I probably won't even be able to get a date." "Uncle Piccolo, let's trade names." "I don't want to trade names with a half-Earthling, half-Saiyan." "Uncle Vegeta, let's trade names." "I will never make a deal with Kakarot's child." "Hmm... Majin Buu, how about we settle for you trading names with me?" "I'll turn you into chocolate..." "Actually, there is someone who wants to trade names with you," Krillin said with a grin. She turned around and saw a line of Androids grinning foolishly at her. "N-never mind. I think I'll keep the name I have..." She sighed helplessly. Dragon Ball is a manga I grew up with. I've loved it for over ten years, and I've loved Trunks for just as long. I always felt that Future Trunks had lost too much, so I wrote this story in the hope that he could be happy in the future.
