My Childhood Friend Wants to Compete in Esports

(For directions, the author's account is "Bingtang Songshu zai Jinjiang" on Weibo.)

My name is Shen Wu, and I'm the mid laner for the Dragon Clan Showdown division of White Whale Esports Club.

I've been playing esports for eight years. I've made a name for myself and earned some money, so I was planning to chase one last dream and then retire in style.

But this year, our team's support player got caught up in a scandal. The team's fallen apart, we're short a support, and my retirement plans are going down the drain.

Then my childhood friend, who's staying at my place, said she could fill in.

# Aaaah, has she lost her mind? No woman has ever played in the league's main tournament. The backlash will drown her!

# And can I really keep the fact that I'm in love with her a secret?

# I'm so screwed. Did I actually get cast in a damsel-in-distress-rescues-the-hero story?

A seemingly dependable, old-fashioned male lead with a secret inner world and a tsundere streak.

A cool-headed female lead, as calculating as a computer and a force of nature.

Warning: They are not blood-related, but have a pseudo-sibling relationship. Please don't read if that bothers you.

Dragon Clan Showdown is a game I made up. It's a MOBA, so please don't associate it with any real game.

Esports is really just the backdrop. I mainly wanted to write a sweet little romance.

Theme: Exploring what a good relationship should look like.
