As the little mermaid who broke the curse, Xioen has been the most precious treasure in these waters since the day he was born. He is a cherished master of the merfolk, whose people fear he might suffer even the slightest hardship, and the greatest creation of a reclusive wizard.
"Xioen, my beloved child." His father, his other half, his destined mate: this powerful king, who once dared to challenge the curse of fate, is always humbly begging him to stay by his side.
Beautiful Xioen, heartless Xioen. Everything in the sea is eagerly brought to his bedside by those who love him, all so that they might be reflected for a moment in those bright eyes. But having too much of the same thing soon leads to boredom. Xioen quickly tires of the monotonous seascape and, like an ancestor who lives only in legend, grows curious about the unknown sights on land.
So on the night he came of age, Xioen tricked his father and surfaced alone. By chance, he encountered a neighboring country's prince celebrating his birthday out at sea.
There is no cliched tale of a mermaid rescuing a prince who fell overboard. Instead, a human who falls in love at first sight forcibly carries the mermaid ashore... and the story takes a rather less-than-beautiful turn.
The little mermaid born of love experiences an even more passionate love, so much so that even his form changes to suit his master's wishes.
In human form, Xioen sees all the busiest sights in the royal city and finds the prince more and more appealing. The prince, as expected, proposes to him and promises him a grand wedding.
It seems that all this has escaped the constraints of the legend, yet the ending unexpectedly returns to its well-worn track: someone does not live to see the dawn, gradually vanishing into foam upon the water.
A universally adored mermaid bottom x all kinds of tops, handsome tops and beautiful bottoms, no chaotic shipping
All the tops are devoted and chaste. Other possible trigger warnings include father/son, older-man romance, pseudo-harem, a gloomy and possessive Jiahao top, and the deaths of major characters.
The story has happy endings at certain stages. The ending can be read as the bottom thriving on his own or as a one-on-one pairing. The bottom does not suffer.
In a nutshell: Although most of the tops end up dead, the bottom has lost his love!
Theme: Love shines like a brilliant song.
