The Demon Lord is the strongest in the world, neither wholly righteous nor wholly evil, and does as he pleases.

But people keep using his name to cause trouble, then pinning the blame on him.

After the Demon Lord kills one of them, he finds a delicate little snowball in their hideout. The snowball's family was wiped out by villains, so he thinks the Demon Lord saved his life. He's clingy and cries easily, and when he acts cute, even ten Demon Lords couldn't resist him.

Demon Lord: Guys, I found a cat, and he wants to come home with me.

After looking after him for several days, the Demon Lord's conscience gets the better of him. He realizes that a demon's lair really isn't a good place for a child to grow up happily. So he claps his hands and dumps the snowball at the leading righteous sect.

The sect's leader is an old man with a long beard, strict and proper, and never smiles. He takes the sticky, cuddly little rice cake in and raises him into a little stickler.

The snowball grows up to become the Immortal Venerable, the foremost figure among the righteous. Cool and distant, with the beauty of a snow-covered spring mountain, he's unbelievably gorgeous. The Demon Lord drops by to see him whenever he can and is quite pleased with how he turned out.

Who would have thought that one day the Immortal Venerable would be ambushed by a villain and infected with the larva of a hypnotic parasite?

The Demon Lord, who secretly visits the kid whenever he gets the chance, happens to be nearby. He casually kills the villain, only to be caught by the parasite's queen as it escapes.

To anyone looking on, it seems the Demon Lord is the one who harmed the Immortal Venerable.

Demon Lord: What a travesty.

The parasite can't be removed just yet. Under the larva's influence, every full moon the Immortal Venerable acts as though he's been drugged. And they can't go too far apart, or the Immortal Venerable will suffer the agony of a thousand ants gnawing at his heart.

The Demon Lord is forced to adopt a secret identity and enter the sect's disciple selection, becoming the Immortal Venerable's disciple so he can slowly figure things out.

The Demon Lord diligently helps his master, the snowball he raised, now the Immortal Venerable and the foremost figure in the opposing sect, get through those torturous full moon nights. All the while, he keeps his secret identity hidden and searches for a solution.

Fortunately, the queen parasite can hypnotize people. If he activates it, he can control the larva's host at will and make him do anything, then erase his memories afterward.

Under hypnosis, the Immortal Venerable is astonishingly obedient. He does whatever he's told, no matter how outrageous. The Demon Lord barely manages to hold on to his precarious moral boundaries, convinced he's doomed sooner or later.

Until one late night, the Demon Lord is pretending to sleep while holding the Immortal Venerable, who has been drunk and kept busy all night. The Immortal Venerable, who should have been unconscious under hypnosis, opens his eyes, takes the Demon Lord's hand, and wraps it around his waist, snuggling into his embrace.

Just like when he was little, as if the Demon Lord wasn't holding him tight enough.

Demon Lord: Well, damn.

He keeps his eyes closed and pretends not to notice. The next day, however, he casually activates his hypnotic power and smiles at the radiant, dignified master before him.

Show me what you can do by yourself.

I hypnotized him, so why isn't he reacting?

Don't tremble.

Why are you crying?

The Immortal Venerable has a secret: he's actually incredibly powerful, and the larva has no effect on him.
