I Took My Farm to Ancient Times

Jiang Shi was barely playing a game anymore when it introduced a farm. The old farmer in him awakened, and he started diligently completing quests, saving coins, upgrading plots, and collecting more and more seeds. Then he was transported into the game!

Good news: He brought the farm with him.

Bad news: Disasters are everywhere: three years of drought, a Little Ice Age, plague, war, and people trading children for food...

Farm System: We need a little divine intervention.

Jiang Shi: The emperor of this feudal dynasty is going to brand me a traitor and send troops after me.

But when he looks at people with no food to fill their stomachs, starving until they chew tree bark and eat dirt...

He has an entire upgraded farm, and it only takes twenty-five minutes to grow wheat.

In the twenty-sixth year of Hongwen, Wuyuan Commandery has suffered three years of drought. Greedy merchants hoard rice and grain, and one dou of rice costs ten thousand coins. Refugees rise up across the land, only to be suppressed by the imperial court. Things haven't quite reached the point of people trading children for food, but families are selling their sons and daughters, and tragedy is everywhere. The emperor issues an edict confessing his sins and praying for rain...

One day, a young man arrives in Wuyuan Commandery. He has short black hair, ragged clothes that leave his limbs exposed, and a delicate appearance. He asks, "I'd like to rent your land."

The land is cracked and dry. Nothing has grown for three years. The villagers figure this outsider can rent it if he wants.

An old man says weakly, "Young man, don't waste your money. It's no use. If you have seeds, you'd be better off eating them. Save your strength and try to survive."

Jiang Shi smiles. "Thanks for your concern. I'm going to need people to work the fields later. How about you come help, old man? I'll pay you in grain."

The old man thinks he's joking. He won't live to see the end of summer anyway. "Sure."

Who would have thought... a miracle!!!
