After My Sudden Breakup with the Heiress

Cool-headed engineering PhD x spoiled, arrogant heiress

27 x 24, later 32 x 29

Rekindled romance / bittersweet push and pull / groveling to win her back

After earning her PhD, Xie Zhiyan, cool in appearance and stiff in temperament, joins the Xu Group through campus recruitment.

Xu Nongyu, the group's newly appointed president, is beautiful, spoiled, and arrogant. Yet she singles Xie Zhiyan out: “For the next year, you're mine.”

At first, all Xie Zhiyan does is serve tea and water and drive Xu Nongyu around.

Somewhere along the way, the two grow impossibly close. Xu Nongyu's hot breath brushes the corner of Xie Zhiyan's lips as she laughs at her. “Dorky big sister, you don't know how to kiss? I'll teach you.”

On those damp, stifling nights, Xu Nongyu takes her hand and uses her soft, yielding body to teach her more.

After much careful thought, Xie Zhiyan decides to ask Xu Nongyu to start a real relationship once their one-year agreement ends.

She prepares everything and rehearses her confession a thousand times.

But beneath the neon lights one night, she sees Xu Nongyu chatting with someone else, her voice dripping with mockery. “Bookish older sister? She's no fun. I'm bored with her. I want someone new.”

Xie Zhiyan never expected that the last lesson Xu Nongyu would teach her would be heartbreak, deathly silence, and annihilation.

After the three hundred and sixtieth night, Xie Zhiyan disappears without a trace.

Five years later, they meet again. Xie Zhiyan is now a partner at a tech company, while Xu Nongyu has taken control of her family's business.

Using work as an excuse, Xu Nongyu keeps showing up wherever Xie Zhiyan is. She acts unruffled, yet often approaches her, seeming particularly attentive to her cold expression.

Then one day, Xie Zhiyan goes on a business trip and enters a hotel with another woman. When Xu Nongyu hears the news, she rushes there in the middle of the night.

In a suite at a top luxury hotel, Xie Zhiyan finds Xu Nongyu wearing thin pajamas.

Xu Nongyu's usual arrogant facade has completely fallen away. Her fingertips tremble as she undoes her pajama buttons and approaches with a hoarse voice. “Sister Xie, what I taught you... please remember.”
