The Guy I Always Bullied Became the Fourth Emperor After Breaking Off Our Engagement

You are Shepard Hessel, a noble-born Celestial Dragon, the most beloved granddaughter of the clan leader, who is also your grandfather.

When you were eighteen, you heard the Figerland family had an enormous joke on their hands: their child, missing for years and turned pirate, had returned to the Holy Land and reclaimed his Celestial Dragon status.

But you never imagined your grandfather intended to work with the Figerland family and marry you off to that man.

Filthy, vulgar, ignorant of art and the elegant manners of nobility. The only thing he had going for him was a halfway decent face.

"I'm going to teach you the rules of the upper world."

You said this as you put a slave collar around his neck to humiliate him on purpose. He touched the collar and smiled at you.

Fool.

You were certain that, as a noble Celestial Dragon, you could teach him to become a proper Celestial Dragon before the wedding.

You failed... He escaped from the Holy Land.

Your marriage alliance with the Figerland family went ahead, and you were to marry his younger brother.

Your former fiance became one of the Four Emperors, and on your wedding day he kidnapped you and locked you aboard his ship.

That slave collar was put around your neck.

"Hessel, now I'm going to teach you the rules of life in the lower world." He looked at you as you wept silently and sighed. "Stop crying. Give me a smile."

"Just like I did back then."
