Did the Savior Run Away Today?

Que Shuo was a lawyer who worked diligently and was on call twenty-four hours a day. She died suddenly onstage while accepting the "Outstanding Lawyer of the Year Award."

The joy of finally being done with work for this lifetime lasted only an instant. When she woke up again, this honest, hardworking woman who firmly believed in materialism discovered that she had transmigrated to a lonely boat in another world.

The next moment, an eager voice calling itself the System rang out in her mind, seamlessly assigning her a mission

[Hello, Que Shuo. Welcome to the Troubled Mainland. Congratulations, you've successfully filled a vacant position and become a child chosen by the gods. Since the mission has restarted, your current progress is 0.]

Que Shuo blinked. "Does 'fill a vacant position' mean... ?"

Oh, so the previous savior had run away, leaving behind a letter and a complete mess. The System had specially recruited her from another world to save the world as a contractor. Hahahahahaha...

Splash

A huge spray of water. Smiling, Que Shuo leaped nimbly into the sea. "Go find someone else!"

*

Naturally, Que Shuo had no desire to become any kind of savior.

Not only did she refuse, she also lectured the System on the law in righteous indignation: unpaid overtime is shameful! Besides, this is kidnapping, unlawful detention, and illegal employment!

The next moment, a fisherman on the shore swung his knife.

Wait, what?? Where's my head?

What kind of utterly ordinary NPC just came along and chopped off the only head the savior had?!

When she opened her eyes again, Que Shuo had respawned from a save and learned an important lesson

It's better to be persuaded with kindness than forced with threats. Once people think you're a troublemaker, the methods this messed-up world uses to deal with you will only get harsher and harsher.

Fine! You're the client, okay! She'll save this world! Is that what you want?!

And so this cut-down version of a savior is shoved into the role. With "return to Blue Star and rest in peace" as her goal, she sets off with a group of half-joined, secretive companions on a journey of "seeming to save the world while always being ready to run away."

And waiting for them along the way are countless secrets involving all things under heaven, including you and me...

[Reading Guide]

1. The heroine is objectively imperfect. She has flaws such as being self-serving and extreme, and she makes foolish mistakes. She grows in fits and starts. This isn't a traditional power fantasy and may be a slow burn. Readers who can't accept a heroine or female supporting characters who aren't morally flawless should proceed with caution.

2. The heroine has absolutely no romance (please take note). The focus is on her personal growth!

This is a world that belongs to women: its mysteries and truths belong to women, and its saviors, villains, and guides are all women. Women are also the main perspective through which the world is observed, the means by which it is presented, and the voices through which its issues are discussed.

Since women are always at the heart of the story, there will inevitably be somewhat heavy themes, including death and oppression. They will be hurt, make mistakes, and fail, but they will also grow and keep moving forward.

3. The setting is entirely fictional. Please don't look for real-world inspirations. No character represents the author's personal views.

4. Updates follow the rankings. The update schedule may change later depending on the stockpile of chapters. The outline is mostly complete, and the ending has been decided. Read with confidence.

5. Everyone in the book, including the author, is an ordinary person with limitations. Please don't attack anyone personally, bring up other authors or works, and let's respect one another and create a good reading environment. Thank you.

6. The story contains many clues. Feel free to discuss and hunt for treasure together. Enjoy reading.
