In their previous life, Yu Yingchen was the senior disciple of Mingxiu Sect, a prodigy who made his name young and dazzled the world with his brilliance.
Later, his master died, his fellow disciples scattered, and the sect was wiped out overnight. He went from a celebrated genius of the immortal sects to a calamity everyone wanted dead.
Given another chance, Yu Yingchen decided to take fewer detours:
Save those who should be saved, kill those who should be killed, and dig out the spy hiding in the sect ahead of time.
But just as his plan was getting started, a group of outsiders calling themselves "players" appeared outside the mountain gate.
They feared neither death nor danger, and could even resurrect on the spot.
Ask them to clear the mountain path, and they might uncover a hidden passage along the way. Ask them to investigate rogue cultivators, and they'll chase after a boss as soon as they've learned how to draw in qi. Yu Yingchen casually put up a quest to repair a wall, and by the next day, the sect had even redesigned its drainage ditches.
Yu Yingchen fell silent for a long while.
They were noisy, but they really were useful.

At first, the players only wanted to level up, explore new territory, and claim the first kill, while making themselves known to the ridiculously handsome senior brother.
Later, they gradually realized:
This main-quest NPC who handed out their missions seemed to have died once already.
And so the forum guides went completely off track:
[We can kill the rogue cultivators later. First, take the sword out of Ah Yu's hands.]
[Where's the healer? Hurry and see if his injuries can still be treated!]
[The sect can collapse. We'll rebuild it afterward, but Ah Yu absolutely cannot die.]
Yu Yingchen had only meant to use the players to change the fate of Mingxiu Sect.
He never expected these people who did not belong to this world to change his fate, too.
Theme: Fate can be defied, and the bonds between people will ultimately overcome the ending that was set in stone.
